For IT and security

A small footprint on your network, sign-in that can use your own identity, your data kept apart from every other utility’s, and a platform audited and red-teamed internally.

Who it is for
  • IT leads
  • Security officers
  • The engineering firms that advise them

01

What sits on your network

A small gateway — usually one for the whole utility, sometimes one per plant — on your own industrial PC or virtual machine, that reaches out to the platform and never accepts a connection from it. Where your data is already in the cloud, nothing at all.

  • Outbound only. The gateway connects out over HTTPS; there is nothing to open inbound and no listening port facing the internet.
  • It keeps working through an outage and catches up afterwards: it holds days of readings on site, so a lost internet link delays the data rather than losing it.
  • Instructions from the platform must be signed, and the gateway can be rolled back to a previous known-good configuration.
  • A plant with no internet access at install time is supported: a gateway can be installed and licensed offline, and needs only its one outbound connection to send data.

02

Identity, access, logs

Your staff can sign in with your organization’s own identity. Roles decide what each person may do and which sites they see, a change takes effect at once, and every change and every request is logged — including anything IntelH2O staff do under a time-limited support session you can see.

03

Your data, kept apart

Every utility’s data is kept in its own compartment with its own keys, on every plan. An add-on gives a utility its own database for further separation; it never buys the basic promise, because that is already the case for everyone.

The platform is audited and red-teamed internally, every fix is re-tested, and IntelH2O does not claim a certification it does not hold. The mechanisms behind each sentence on this page are explained to your IT lead in the demonstration, and in the documentation you receive during an assessment. Bring the questionnaire your procurement uses; we would rather answer it than paraphrase it.
